Brusje se smjestilo na visoravni najzapadnijeg dijela otoka Hvara, oko 6 km od grada Hvara. Prostor Brusja zastalno je naseljen od 15.st a sam naziv Brusje dolazi od izvedenice "brus" što znači kamen. Brusje se diči svojom crkvom sv. Jurja izgrađenom između 1676-1708 godine. Prekrasan krajobraz, mnoštvo kemenih gomila, miris lavande i ruzmarina te jedinstven pogled na Hvarski kanal i otok Brač daju Brusju izuzetan šarm i ugođaj mediterana iz prošlosti.
Brusje is on the plateau on the most western side of Hvar Island, about 6 km from Hvar Town. The name Brusje dervies from "brus" meaning "stone, and the place has been inhabited continuously since the 15th century. The pride of Brusje is its church, St.George's, which was built between 1676 and 1708. Brusje is exceptionally charming because of its magnificent scenery, abundance of stone mounds, as well as the fragrant scents of lavender and rosemary, and a unique view over the Hvar Channel to the island of Brac. Here one can enjoy the attractions of the Mediterranean as it used to be. |
